Dr. Bezaye Tessema is a postdoctoral researcher jointly advised by Professor Carrie Masiello, Director of the Sustainability Institute and Dr Ken Medlock, Director of the Center for Energy Studies at Rice’s Baker Institute for Public Policy.

Bezaye is researching new directions in carbon markets, including accelerating climate actions through increased participation of city and connecting city-dwellers in the emerging carbon markets, and on how carbon markets for Africa . From 2021-2022 she was a Carnegie Early Career Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Rhodes University in South Africa. Read more about Bezaye’s research here.
